I love the silly expressions New Kid gives here, and the twisted snake decal on one of her pant legs is pretty cool.

 

Omitting the background is sometimes the way to go for comics to put the emphasis on the characters and props in frame. I promise. It's not lazy, it's a deliberate tactic on my part. (As ambitious as Sky Limit has been since inception, it'd be a little crazy to call any part of it "lazy")

But I do struggle with backgrounds. I'm currently working on three pages of Sky Limit #2 at the same time just because the ammount of detail needed in the background is alluding me. I've redrawn it twice now. Please send help.
