Chapter 1 Page 43
UGH I can't believe December starts tomorrow. The clock ticks life away it's so unreal.
I've had the idea in the future to make shorter Sky Limit chapters (about 8 pages) that could perfectly last a month of updates, great for a holiday special for October or December. Not until Sky Limit is way further in its run and we have like a status quo established, of course, but lately the idea has been sticking around in my mind, contemplating the kinds of stories I could tell with that shorter page count.
I like the motion on this page! It feels fast. Think about the time you spend reading each panel. Every word making that panel "longer" since it takes more time to read it. Using the tail end of the streak from the jet board, the page feels fast, despite having a good amount of describing text. Does that make sense? Is that enough words to describe the role words play when reading a comic?
Anyway, lately I've been reading a lot of comics like the Flash and Sonic the Hedgehog to really be thinking about the ways to make a comic feel faster than fast. Call that speed reading.
